Oliveto sul Lago farmhouse offers 12 rooms and suites in the Bolognese Hills at Varignana: 11 in the main building (5 with garden view, 6 overlooking the olive grove-covered hillsides) and the Chiesina Suite, housed in a former chapel featuring frescoed ceilings and an exclusive private garden.
Every room is styled in a rustic chic aesthetic, blending contemporary décor with carefully restored antique furnishings: wall colours echoed in bathroom ceilings, period accents and natural materials create an atmosphere that is both authentic and refined.
The continental breakfast is prepared with artisan pastries, homemade juices and jams, fruit and vegetables from the estate’s own farmland, and cured meats and cheeses from local farms in the Bolognese Hills.
Oliveto Sul Lago has 12 rooms. 11 distributed over the two floors of the main building, 5 of which overlook the garden and 6 overlook the hills planted with olive groves. A room, external to the structure, was created from a former oratory and transformed into a special room
charm, with frescoed ceilings and private garden.
In each room nothing is left to chance: from the decorations and colors of the walls echoed in the bathroom ceilings to create an ideal continuum between the different rooms, to the furnishings with expertly restored antique furniture inserts, in perfect rustic chic style.
The breakfast served is continental with homemade desserts, juices and jams of our own production, as well as fruit and vegetables from our farms and cured meats and cheeses from local farms.

All guests of Oliveto sul Lago farmhouse receive a complimentary tasting of extra virgin olive oil produced by Agrivar, a zero-kilometre supply chain rooted in the Land of Varignana. For those wishing to deepen the experience, the Agrivar winery at Palazzo di Varignana offers guided sensory tastings led by expert olive oil tasters, accompanied by platters of local cured meats and cheeses.
Guests who book directly through this website will find a bottle of wine from the Agrivar estate at Palazzo di Varignana waiting for them in their room.
All guests of the Country House will be offered a taste of the extra virgin olive oil produced by our farm: a very high quality oil, born from an integrated 0km supply chain of the Varignana land. At the farm’s cellar it will be possible to deepen the experience with sensorial and technical tastings accompanied by platters of genuine and local cured meats and cheeses, under the guidance of expert oil tasters. The tasting will allow you to appreciate the qualities of a good Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the main element of the Mediterranean diet, which is not a simple condiment, but a precious ingredient rich in beneficial properties.
